Harriett Eleanor Yager, 90, died Friday, August 8, 2008, at her home in Billings, MT.
Harriett, the eldest of five children, was born in a house on the prairie outside Bennett, Colorado on Dec. 25, 1917 to Raynard and Eleanor Hess. All of her life, Mom was proud to be a Christmas baby. One of her sisters, Shirley Childress of Santa Rosa, CA, survives.
On January 21, 1939, she married Emmett (Chuck) Yager in Littleton, CO and they were married for 62 years. They have three children- Gerald (Corrine) Yager and D’Anne (Paul) Holley of Billings and Janette (Albert) Tinianow of Colorado Springs, CO and were blessed with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Harriett and Chuck lived in Denver most of their lives. After retiring as a draftswoman at the Arapahoe County Court House, Mom and Dad moved to Sedalia, MO to be near Dad’s family. They moved to Billings in 1989 and enjoyed dancing, bowling, bingo and fishing. After Dad’s death in 2001, Mom resided at West Park Village. She was a life-time member of the Eastern Star.
The family wishes to thank Riverstone Hospice and all the special caregivers at Westpark Village for their loving support of our mother.
No service will be held. Harriett will be buried next to her husband in Denver, Colorado. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. |
