            Ruth Foster Joines, 90 of Billings, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at her home.

            The daughter of Luther and Rosa Foster, Ruth was born August 9, 1917 in Topeka, KS, where she was raised and educated.   During high school Ruth was captain of her basketball team and was on the honor roll. From an early age, Ruth had enjoyed drawing and painting.

            Ruth worked as a legal secretary and as a secretary to President Truman.  Here in Billings she was an art instructor and operated an art supply store.

            Ruth’s husbands Fred Schagerstrom and Lloyd Joines preceded her in death.

            Ruth was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed playing Bridge and Scrabble; jig saw puzzles and occasionally golf.

            Ruth is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

            Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Memorial services will be 1pm Friday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.
