Remembrances

Robert Edward Manning, 89, of Billings died at his home in Billings on February 12, 2007.

Robert was born October 15, 1917 to John Early and Cecelia (Gosselin) Manning. On August 31st, 1940 he married his high school sweetheart Bulah Satterthwait at St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral in Billings.

Following military service from 1943-1946 Robert returned to Billings and worked at Valley Motor Company which later became Carquest, retiring in 1982. He was an active member of the Golden K Kiwanis and the Elks. During retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. During the last five years Robert and Bulah enjoyed making many new friends together at West Park Village and are thankful for the love and support from the residents and staff.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Bulah, and two daughters Bonnie Wright of El Paso, TX and Marilou (Ron) Gaskill of Laurel. He is survived by four grandchildren, Barbara Jo Wright-White of El Paso, Rob (Kyra) Gaskill of Billings, Jason Gaskill of Laurel, and Ron (Jeana) Gaskill of Bozeman, and, two great-grandchildren Zachery Wright-White of El Paso and Olivia Gaskill of Bozeman. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Cote of Missoula, and Patricia Manning of Las Vegas, NV, several nieces, a nephew and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lorraine Haggerty and his son-in-law Ralph Wright.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon at St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral. The Rite of Committal and military honors will follow at Mountview Cemetery.
