Marian Thompson Maas passed away peacefully at her home in Laurel on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Marian was born October 11, 1953 in Miles City, MT. Her family later moved to Billings where she grew up. Marian graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Soon after, she had her first and only son, Eran. In 1983 she married Gary Lee Maas and had their first daughter, Jennifer. About three years later they had a second daughter, Sara. The family moved to Laurel and Marian worked at Sweetheart Bakery for over 20 years. Marian is preceded in death by her father Bryan on January 24, 1960; her sister Karen on November 3, 1973; her mother Lela on May 15, 1944, and her beloved dog Jasmine. She is survived by her three children, Erin (Carlee) Thompson of Billings, Jennifer Maas of Billings, and Sara Maas of Laurel; two grandchildren, Trae and Ethyn Thompson; her ex-husband, Gary Maas of Billings; two sisters, Patricia Bryant of Tennessee and Ann (Bob) Mauldin of Laurel; a niece, Tami (Josh) Whiteaker of Illinois; and nephew Donald (Cindy) Bryant of California; and her surrogate family Tim, Nancy, and Roger McCullough of Laurel. Marian loved her children with all her heart and would do anything for them. They loved to joke around and tease her. Marian’s grandson’s Trae and Ethyn were the light of her life. She adored them and was looking forward to spoiling her soon to be first granddaughter as much as she spoiled them. Mom and Grandma, we love you forever and always know you will be with us. Thank you for teaching us the true value of life: unconditional love. Funeral services will he held at 2:00 PM., on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. A reception will follow at 110 Hilltop. The casket is open at Michelotti-Sawyers for visitation. |
