Mercedes M. Labane
Remembrances Mercedes M. Labane, 84 of Billings, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Valley Health Care Center.

The daughter of Maylow and James Osborne, Mercedes was born April 2, 1922 in Glendive, MT. She was raised and educated in Glendive, graduating from Dawson County High School in 1940.

She married Burton Caruso in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1964. In 1966 she married Paul Labane in Thermopolis, WY. He passed away in 1980.

Mercedes loved to travel and was a great seamstress. She bowled in three different leagues and liked to feed the ducks near her home.

She is survived by her companion Walter Vandaveer of Billings, three daughters, Maylo Kinder and Marcia Goodman (Doug) of Billings and Marilyn Caruso (Bill Feeley) of Roscoe, stepson Ron Labane (Denise) of Sacramento, and stepdaughter Doris Jackson (Ken) of Phoenix. Also surviving are grandchildren, John Graf, Brad Reno, Melissa Hammons, Ken & Jerry Jackson, Corie and Paul Labane, Jason Labane, and Wendy Lehman, and several great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 1pm Thursday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.
