James Donovan Nelson

1945-2007

James Donovan Nelson (Jim) passed away in Billings, Montana on August 13, 2007. Jim was born on November 4, 1945 to Earl and Ruth Nelson. He grew up and was educated in Billings, graduating from Billings Senior High School in 1964 and Eastern Montana College in 1975.

Jim spent the majority of his professional life working as a stockbroker. His affinity for numbers and great charisma afforded him much success in that field. Sadly, during his later years, Jim succumbed to a lifelong battle with alcoholism. Ultimately, this disease and lifestyle led to his tragic passing.

He will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor, incredible intelligence, and his love of and skill at poker and blackjack.

Jim is survived by a son, Jeff Nelson, of Seattle, Washington; daughters Shelby (Michael) Gilluly and Sydne (Jeff) DeBusk of Billings; sister Sharon (Don) Pryor of Westlake Village, California; nieces Cathie Oliver, Cherie (Scott) Ash, and Sharyl Abbott; grandson Jade Nelson; granddaughters Molly DeBusk and Laine Gilluly; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruth Nelson; a brother, John; a

sister, Loretta MacMillan; a nephew, Greg MacMillan; a niece, Christie Oliver Ferrin; and several aunts and uncles.

Dad, God bless you and keep you. May you now find peace, warmth, and contentment.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Avenue. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Montana Rescue Mission, 2822 Minnesota Ave., Billings, MT 59101.
