In the early morning on Thursday, September 13,
Clyde L. Young, age 85, passed away at his home here in Billings. He
was born in a sod house in western Nebraska on April 22, 1922, near
Hemingford. His parents were George and Nellie Abley Young.
He handled a variety of jobs including ranch work,
rodeo riding, farming, selling machinery, and for 25 years managed
and owned Taco John's restaurants.
Clyde was better known by his nickname Dugan or
"Doug." He entered the Navy on September 23, 1942, and was honorably
discharged on December 28, 1945.
In 1947 he married Dorothy Burrows. They had two
children: Carol House of Billings and "Jim" Young of Adams,
Nebraska. He and his wife celebrated 60 years of marriage in August
of this year.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Billings
and son James of Adams, Nebraska. He leaves six grandchildren and
one sister, Alice Boring, of Eugene, Oregon. His beloved daughter,
Carol House, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday,
September 18, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Avenue B,
Billings.
