Edna K. Wagner Tippett

1921 - 2007

On a beautiful autumn day, October 2, 2007 our sister Edna passed away suddenly. What a joyous celebration occurred as she was welcomed by her twin brother, husband, our beloved Mother, Dad, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. The Lord said, "welcome home Edna."

Edna and her twin brother were born October 29, 1921 in Herreid, SD to Kathryn and George Wagner. They moved to Haynes, ND where she graduated from high school. She was a miracle baby from the beginning, a preemie twin who could fit in her father’s shoe box. As a child she was severely burned in an accident but recovered without a scar and without the aid of a doctor thanks to her wonderful mother.

She worked as a waitress, cashier and hostess in Dickinson, ND along with her sister Elsie. She could hardly wait to get up in the morning and go to work! She loved people. She served in the military from 1958 to 1961 in Orleans, France. On October 22, 1962, she married Sidney Tippett in Las Vegas.

God gifted her with a unique sense of humor, the gift of laughter and a child-like joy and love of people. She loved life right to the end and even asked for home-made chicken noodle soup when she came home from the hospital.

She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, attended the "Walk to Emmaus", and worked with "Chrysalis", a youth group and after school Bible club at EUM. She was also a member of the Golden Dancers.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and a brother-in-law. Surviving are sisters Ellyia (Lee) Kyle, and Mata Wagner, 4 neices, 2 grandnephews, 1 grand niece and 5 great grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 4th and Broadwater. Interment with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Evangelical United Methodist Church.

We lost a great lady! I loved her sense of humor and wisdom. She will surely be missed.

Love, Barbara Lauver

I was blessed to have Edna at the table of Anna when we both made our Walk to Emmaus. Her footprints will be forever on my heart.
