Frances E. Nelson, age 93, passed away peacefully
on Oct. 9, 2007, in San Antonio.
She was born in Mora, Minn.; she grew up in Billings. She was a
teacher for over 25 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, barbecues
with her family and playing with her great-grandchildren. Frances
was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, where she taught Bible
studies. She was very well known for her elegance, smile and
kindness, and was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years,
Charles R. Nelson; brothers, Roderick Wright and Edward Wright;
sisters, Jane Fortney and Phyllis Hopwood. She is survived by her
son, Dr. Robert C. Nelson (Fern); daughter, Linda Appelgren;
sisters, Kathleen Klotz and Elizabeth Nelson; sisters-in-law, Bessie
and Beth Wright; grandchildren, Raymond (Judi) Nelson, Charles
(Becky) Nelson, Richard Appelgren (Peter Kolonia), Tammy (Robert)
Armstrong, Robert (Lisa) Nelson, Carrie (Michael) Diel, Martin
(Carrie) Nelson, Brad (Anita) Taylor, Derek (Cindy) Taylor and Bret
Padgett; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at
Porter Loring Mortuary North in San Antonio, followed by the service
at St. Mark's Episcopal Church at 3 p.m., with Father Jonathan
Wickham officiating. Private interment will be held in Billings.
