Theodore "Ted" Raymond George, 80 of Billings,
passed away peacefully on October 22, 2007 after a short, but
courageous battle with cancer. He was one of nine children born to
Manuel and Josephine (Ferria) George on March 11, 1927. He left
school after the eighth grade to work on the family ranch. On
February 1, 1951 he married the love of his life, Shirley L.
Mendonsa at St. Isadore’s in Danville, CA.
He was a proud member of the Heat and Frost
Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union, Local #16 in Alameda, Ca. He
enjoyed his work and was highly regarded by his co-workers. He
served 38 years before retiring in 1988. After living in the Bay
area, he moved to Sacramento, CA in 1959.
After retiring he and his wife spent most of their
time traveling to Montana to be with family, and going to "flea"
markets. His joy and happiness came from "spoiling" Shirley. There
was not one thing that he would not have given her or done for her.
In 1997 they moved to Billings, MT to be near his family.
Ted’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with
his family and go to the local auctions and "flea" markets. He had a
love for antiques, and collected belt buckles, German beer steins,
and beer sign memorabilia.
He is survived by his only daughter and
son-in-law, Debbie and Kenny Witt of Billings; grandchildren Kevin
(Renee`) Witt and Kyle (Jennifer) Witt of Billings, and Rene` (Wes)
Lindeen of Longmont, CO; 8 great grandchildren; his sisters, Irene
Ferreira of Fresno, CA, and Rose McGlynn of Concord, CA; brother
