Margaret Pauline Emter

Remembrances Margaret Pauline Emter, dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend, found peace Sunday, March 18, 2007 in the comfort and glory of her Heavenly Father, after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Margaret was born on October 22, 1933 in Mott, North Dakota to John and Lena Frieze. She went to country school until she moved to Bismarck, North Dakota. This is where she met and married her husband of 53 years, Thomas Emter. Together they had 3 children, Russell, Cheryl and Allan. She started working for JC Penney in Bismarck and continued working there after the family moved to Billings. She worked for JC Penney many years before retiring.

Margaret loved spending time with her family, camping with Good Sams, playing Pinochle and could sometimes be found at the Moose Lodge playing cards on Tuesday nights. She was a very good cook and made the best German food ever. She was a very gentle soul and was always there to take care of her grand and great-grandchildren. Our hearts will be so empty without her. We will cherish the time we had with her.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Emter; sons, Russell and Allan Emter; daughter Cheryl (Borge) Bak, six grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Rebecca, Ryan, LaShalle, and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren, Spring and Jasmine. Also by many brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, two sisters, two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 22, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, at St. Pius X Church with Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery. The casket will be open at Michelotti-Sawyers beginning on Wednesday.
