Lorr Verzuh, 94 of Billings, MT, passed away on March 13, 2007 at Highgate
Senior Living in Billings. She was born on November 1, 1912 in Twisp, WA,
the only daughter of John and Margaret (Norman) Lorr. She graduated from
high school in Gunnison, CO. She received her primary schooling at St.
Scholastica Academy in Canon City, CO and had many fond memories of that
experience.
She married Rudy Verzuh in Gunnison on June 6, 1933. They made their home in Crested Butte, CO from that time until the fall of 1995 when they moved to Billings. Prior to moving to Billings she and Rudy spent many enjoyable winters snow birding in Mesa, Arizona where she took up golf. Esther was proud to be a wife, mother and grandmother as well as an excellent cook, seamstress and interior decorator. She assisted Rudy in the operation of the Princess Theater for many years. She was active in many church and community activities. She is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, Rudy Verzuh of Billings; son Jim (Julie) Verzuh of Billings; daughter Nancy (Tom) Speedy of Fairport, NY; four grandsons, Rudy, Eric, John, and Jim; two granddaughter, Karen and Allison; and seven great grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care given to Esther by the staff at Highgate Senior Living. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 17, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Her cremated remains will be interred at Crested Butte Cemetery in Colorado at a later date.
