Christopher Shane Swanz

Chris was born to Terry and David Swanz on Jan. 5,1971 at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.

Chris loved traveling and camping, but his passion was learning. He graduated with honors from Billings Senior High in 1989. In 1994 Chris graduated with honors from the University of Montana with degrees in Psychology, Economics and Art History. In 1999 Chris was valedictorian of his nursing class from MSU Billings. He was in the process of pursuing an engineering degree at the time of his death.

Chris had worked at the Deaconess Mental Health Center and at the Horizon Hospice home. He had a very caring and compassionate heart which his family and friends will deeply miss. He enjoyed being able to help and work with people in their time of need.

Chris is survived by his mother Terry Swanz and father David Swanz both of Billings. Step brothers Paul and Justin Swanz of Billings, Grandparents Violet and Richard Freier and Noreen and Don Swanz of Harlowton. Aunt and Uncle Peggy and Mike Giltzow of Boise, ID. Cousins Katie and Tim Giltzow and their families of Boise, ID. Uncles Dennis & Duane Swanz of Billings, and Don Swanz and his family in La Junta, CO. Chris will be missed and remembered by his special friends Trina Greenup and Rory Rogina.

We will all miss his great smile and love. Peace be with you Chris!

Services will be held at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary (1001 Alderson) at 7:00 PM Saturday March 24th.
