Bjorn Bornes

February 19, 1952 ~ March 11, 2007

Remembrances Born in Norway with skis on his feet, Bjorn Bornes began his life adventure when at the age of one, his family moved to Northeastern Montana from Bergen, Norway.

On May 1, 1971 Bjorn married Chris Harris. This marked the beginning of a fun-filled, exciting, ans sometimes painful life with their four children; Bjorn, Jr., Heather, Leif, and Tove.

Bjorn loved his family and enjoyed a large circle of friends. From his "hunting" buddies and their infamous trips and trophy elk, to his "golf" buddies and their many trips to Myrtle Beach and his favorite golf trip to Glasgow, Scotland, to his "Boise Family" and all those managers meetings, Bjorn make friends easily and honored them with fierce loyalty.

He had one employer on his resume - Boise Cascade. At eighteen years old, while attending EMC (now MSU-Billings) he worked in the warehouse in Billings. Over time he was awarded for his intelligence and loyalty. He climbed the corporate ladder until he reached the position of Manager of the Boise Cascade Wholesale Building Materials in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In a full circle moment upon his retirement, he remarried his love, Chris and moved back to Billings. The last year was filled with joy and pain. The joy was being reunited with his family and friends in Billings. His greatest pain was also revealed when he lost his daughter Heather Henrichs two months ago after an 11 year battle with cancer. While the two are reunited, we will all miss them and treasure our memories.

Bjorn is survived by his wife Chris; his children, Leif Bornes, Tove Bornes, and Bjorn (Lindsey) Bornes, Jr. and their children Bjorn James and Noah; son-in-law, Scott Henrichs and his son Tristan; stepmother Jean Bornes; sister Jane Thom; and nephews, Robbie and Wade.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Heather Henrichs; parents, Leif Bornes and Anna Bertelsen; parental grandparents, Aleda and Anfin Bornes; and maternal grandparents, Freida and Kristoffer Steffensen.

The family will be receiving guests for visitation from 4:00-7:00 P.M., on Wednesday, March 14, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Thursday, March 15, at Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 2929 Belvedere Drive, with burial to follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Heather Henrichs Benefit Fund, c/o First Interstate Bank, 3199 Grand Ave., Billings, MT 59102.
