Marlys Peters

Remembrances

Marlys Peters passed away at age 86 on December 19, 2006 at The Vista at Mission Ridge in Billings. Marlys was born and raised in Drake, North Dakota, but had lived in Billings for more than 60 years.

Marlys worked in various government jobs including employment with the Veterans Administration, The Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Postal Service Real Estate Division.

After retirement Marlys learned to play tennis and even constructed a tennis court at her Lockwood home. She was also an avid life-long bridge player and was an active member of the American Lutheran Church.

Her parents and three brothers, as well as her husbands Harry Mardaus, Carl Peters and F. James Sauer preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter Janene Mardaus Alberda and son-in-law Dale Alberda who live in Stratford-upon-Avon, England; seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Stephanie, and Tristan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Justin, Erin, and Austin of Seattle and Regan of Washington D.C.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107-5033 or to the American Lutheran Church, 5 Lewis Ave., Billings, MT 59101.
