Caroline R. (Brown) Walburn of Billings, MT and long time resident of Cody, WY, passed away April 14, 2007 two days after being moved from her home at Westpark Village in Billings, MT. She was 92 years old. Caroline was born in Edgeley, ND on April 26, 1914 as the daughter of Edward and Ida Wallrich. She graduated from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo, ND. She was married to Bill Brown from 1937 until his death in 1968. She then married Bill Admidin in 1979 until his death in 1987. In August, 1987, Caroline married Lester Walburn and moved to Edgeley where she went to work at St. Joseph’s Manor. Lester passed away in 2002 and she moved to Billings, MT. Caroline practiced nursing as a Registered Nurse for 68 years in Billings, MT; Portland, OR; Cody, Powell and Newcastle, WY; Williston, Fargo and Edgeley, ND. She retired from nursing in April, 2003, the month of her 89th birthday! She continued to help people at Westpark, even after she retired. Caroline also loved music, particularly playing the harmonica. She taught Cub Scouts and Brownies the harmonica and joined her son in entertaining at retirement and nursing homes in Billings as well as Edgeley. Caroline is survived by four children - Don (Kathie) Brown of Fairhope, AL, Bill (Linda) Brown of Appleton, WI, Brad Brown of Billings, MT and Barbara (Larry) Steele of Great Falls, MT; two Step-children - Rick Walburn from Lansing, Michigan and Joan (Tom) Downham of Laramie, WY; one sister - Eleanor Redmond from Colorado and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grand children throughout the country. She was particularly helped numerous times over the past several months by her granddaughter Denise Brown of Billings. She was preceded in death by two sons - Bob Brown and David Brown; six sisters and two brothers. Requiem Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, April 17, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Burial will be in Cody, WY at the Riverside Cemetery. The casket will be closed. |
