Veteran, William "Bill" Petersen, age 85, passed away April 14, 2007.
Bill was born in Midwest Wyoming November 9, 1921 to Martin W. And Esther V. Petersen. He served in the Navy until 1945 and in June of that year married Jeanette Bjorndal. Bill worked for Hardy Construction as Vice President and Superintendent for 38 years. He was a member of the American Legion, serving as Post Commander and National Vice Commander. Bill and others built the base for the WWII Memorial in Veterans Park and placed white crosses along the highways for highway fatalities. He is survived by two sons, Dan N., and Dale W. Petersen, and his granddaughter Rachel Petersen. He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, daughter Karen, brother Gordon, sister Phyllis Abrahams, and parents, William and Esther Petersen. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 2:00PM Thursday April, 26, 2007 at the American Legion Club. Memorials may be made to the American Legion, Yellowstone Post #4 or the charity of one’s choice. |
