Remembrances

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Melissa (Angell) Krawietz

The Lord called our loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, home to him on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 after a brief illness.

Howard Young was born on January 22, 1925 to Donnie and Nora (Qualls) Young, in the Qualls family home in Story, Arkansas, Montgomery County.

Howard was raised on a farm in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. He joined the Army in 1946 and was honorably discharged in February 1949.

Howard married Theresa Rutledge in 1951. Together they had five children; Levi (Julie) Young, Angela (Henry) Burdick, Howard Victor (Debbie) Young, Evan (Mellisa) Young, and Alvin (Rose) Young.

Howard later married Lois White in 1969. They celebrated 37 years of marriage with the extended family consisting of Tom (Viv) White, Jerry (Katie) White, and Sally (Bill) Blackburn.

He worked many years in the oilfield with his sons. He was the first retiree from Spring Creek Coal in Decker, MT where he worked as a welder.

Howard enjoyed photography, the outdoors, his church and most of all, his family. He was a good problem solver. He could fix anything and was a good role model. He was a member of the VFW Post #1634 where he served as chaplain, and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Tom. Howard is survived by his wife, Lois; sisters, Era Dawsen, Dorothy Angel, Fada Krebs; his remaining children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at Michelotti-Sawyers.
