B. Will passed away Sunday, September 24, 2006 after living 100 years
according to her motto: "You have to be involved to live life."
Lydia Pauline Doris was born January 7, 2006 in Decatur, Indiana to Louis and Mary Boknecht. Her family moved to North Dakota to homestead when she was three years old. After graduating from high school, she began teaching. She taught in several one room country schools in southwest North Dakota. She and her husband, Eugene, moved to Sidney, Montana where they bought and ran a grocery store. She later taught in Sarpy and Crow Agency and moved to Billings when she retired. Survivors include her daughter, Verene Nelstead of Billings; her daughter-in-law, Kay Will of Billings; her son and daughter-in-law, Gene Roger and Merilee Will of Vancouver, WA; 7 grandchildren: Randy Nelstead of Vail Colorado, Sheri (Bob) Towne of Tacoma Washington~ Kevin (Shirley) Nelstead of Bucharest, Romania, Michelle (David) Kilborn ofColleyville, Texas, Nathan Will of Vancouver, Washington, Jennifer Will of Vancouver, Washington and Stephanie (Jason) Will of Vancouver, Washington; and 9 great-grandchildren: Alison, John, Ben and Michael Towne of Tacoma, Kyle, Craig, Amy and Heather Nelstead of Bucharest and Kayla Will of Vancouver. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her 3 brothers and 2 sisters and her son, Marvin Will. Even at 100 years old, Lydia lived alone and had a "can't complain" attitude. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting for her annual bazaar and volunteering for many local organizations. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 Saturday, September 30 at Michelotti-Sawyers. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception will then be held at Pleasantview Apartments, 833 Ave D. Memorials may be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, to the Marvin D. Will Endowment at Billings Clinic or to a charity of your choice. |
