Marian T. Smith, 70 of Billings, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. Vincent Healthcare on September 16, 2006. Marion was born April 2, 1936 in Dickinson, ND, the first of two daughters to Fred and Frances Parker. The family moved to Billings in 1944 where she attended school. She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1955. She went on to graduate from Billings Business College and Dickinson State University. She worked for St. V’s, then went to work for the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. Marion married Tom Smith on October 11, 1957. They divorced in 1960. They had two daughters, Cathleen and Colleen. Marion enjoyed her flower garden, watching TV and her dog, Penny. She is survived by her sister, Alice Holly and nephews, Ryan and Scott; her daughters, Cathleen Magann of North Bend, OR, and Colleen Smith and her husband Tom Barrett of Billings; five grandchildren, Charity (Tony) Tecca of Billings, Tracy (Al) Mian of Highland Mills, NY, Dustin (Annie) Smith, Danny (Michelle) Smith, and Derek Smith all of Billings; three great grandchildren, Lauryn, Melanie, and Stephanie; several cousins; her aunt, Amy; and her beloved dog, Penny. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Frances Parker and her brother-in-law, Patrick Holly. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 22, 2006, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Following the service, a celebration of Marion’s life will be held at the Rimrock Inn, North 27th St., Banquet Room 145 from 2-4 P.M. The family requests that any memorial donations may be sent to Colleen Smith, 940 Westgate Drive, Billings, MT 59101. Marion’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the care givers at St. Vincent’s ICU. Truly you are the unsung heros. Marion, you used to collet angels, now you are with them. We will always love you! |
