Margaret L. Rogers passed away Friday, October 27th, 2006 at The Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, following surgery as a result of a stroke. She was born September 8th, 1930 in Portland, Maine. Margaret, the daughter of George S. And Edith Haley, grew up in Portland and attended school in the Portland School System, graduating from Deering High School in 1948. Margaret moved to Billings in 1950. She married Robert T. Rogers on June 16, 1951. During her fifty-three years of marriage, Margaret enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, and traveling. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making afghans. Margaret enjoyed and was supportive of her husband’s music, as he was a jazz musician. She also enjoyed and was involved in her children’s interests while they were growing up. In later years, Margaret served as a Bailiff for the Thirteenth Judicial District Court for Sixteen years, and eleven of which she served as Chief Bailiff. During her final two years, she was a proud and active member of the Red Hat Society, belonging to the Billings Chapter “Ditzy Divas”. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rogers. She is survived by her son, John Rogers; daughter, Linda (Robert) Bates; three granddaughters, Angela (Nate) Clausen, Toni (Ben) Edtl, and Angela Johnson; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 12th, at 4:00 P.M., at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Heebie Jeebies Youth Scholarship, c/o Helena Jazz Jubilee Headquarters, P.O.
