Clarence A. Barta

Clarence Barta passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at home from a heart attack. He was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Belfield, N.D., to Albert and Mary (Kudrna) Barta. He was the oldest of ten siblings.

He joined the Army in 1955, and was Honorably Discharged in 1957. He married Monica Binstock on October 21, 1957, and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage and raised three children.

The true passion in Clarence’s life was his family. He loved his wife, Monica, with all his heart. They were rarely without each other and they loved traveling to visit family and friends. His children meant the world to him and they felt the same way about him. He loved calling each one of them to “check in” and see how they were doing, even if it was only for a minute. He loved to go shopping; a trait his daughters got from him. He loved to ride his Harley, especially, with his son, Tom. He loved his son-in-laws and daughter-in -law as much as he loved his own children. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life. He couldn’t do enough or spend enough time with each of them; whether it was cooking pancakes, taking them to school, going to their games, going camping, playing games, or just spending time with them watching TV. He enjoyed watching each of them grow and sharing his memories with them. He took great pleasure in being the “Big Brother” and loved his siblings very much.

He was a man loved by many and was called “CB”. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Monica; Children: Tammy (Doug) McRae of Wright, Wyo., Tom (Robyn) Barta of Billings, and Tori (Bob) Jewell of Gillette, Wyo.; Grandchildren: Heather (Justin) Edwards, Shannon McRae, Tara (Benji) Milner, Justin and Connor Barta, McKenna Volbrecht, Emily and Zach Jewell; Great-Grandchildren: Kodi, Jozi and Reo Edwards, Layla and Adalyn Milner; Brothers: Danny (wife Jamie), “Sonny” Albert Jr. (wife Beverly), Jim (wife Jay) , Keith (wife Diane) and Allen (wife Janet); Sisters: MaryAnn Rausch, Shirley Belisle, Linda (David) Calvin, and Rosie (Alvin) Stadel.

A Vigil will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral.

Remembrances

My condolences to the Barta family.

Clarence always showed interest in anything I was doing when I lived two doors down from him on Parkside Dr. I remember my dad telling me that Clarence is the type of man you could always count on if you ever needed anything. How true. He will be missed dearly.

It's been many a years , but I will always have the good memories of Clarence, and remember one time in particular, when he and Monica shared pictures with us of their grandchildren, they both were beaming ear to ear ! Dear Monica, Tam, Tom and Tori
So sorry to hear about Uncle Clarence passing away. I wish I could be there by your sides right now.

Uncle Clarence always was very caring and understanding and will be forever missed. He always referred to me as ‘Carrot Top’ and every time I hear this name I will always have fond memories of Uncle Clarence.

I will always cherish the memories of snowmobile riding when I was a little one. Many fond memories………….

With love Kerry and Shannon Barta
