Jeffrey Alan Saas
Jeffrey Alan Saas left this earth on May 7, 2011, but he will never leave our hearts. Jeff was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully at the young age of 43.
Jeff was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on June 25, 1967 to Norman and Della Saas. He was the youngest of four children and grew up near Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Jeff received his first computer at the age of 13. He took the computer completely apart, put it back together and, of course, the computer worked better than when he received it. Thus, began his passion. Jeff graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1985. He attended Dakota County Tech College and studied computer science. In 1989, Jeff began working for Cannon Data Services as a computer programmer. Jeff later went on to purchase the company, which became Cornerstone Computer Services. He worked with United Methodist Conferences across the United States.
While working with the United Methodist Conferences, Jeff met the love of his life, Anita Schultz. Jeff and Anita entered into their marriage and partnership as best friends on July 18, 2002. They vowed on that day to honor each other and Jeff did honor Anita for all the days of his life. Jeff truly considered Anita his soul mate and felt that Anita made him want to be a better person and completed him in every way.
Jeff and Anita were fortunate in that they worked together. Jeff said that he worked with his best friend and went home with his wife. The way Jeff loved and cherished Anita was apparent in the way he treated her. Not a day went by that Jeff didn't express his love to her.
Jeff loved his neighbors and his neighborhood. He was generous with his time and talents and found great pleasure in helping his neighbors who were also some of his best friends. Jeff also enjoyed going to the farm and spending time with Anita's family.
Jeff is survived and missed dearly by many, including: his wife Anita Saas; his daughters Amber Hagedorn (Kelly) and Mindy Sayler (Nate); parents Norman and Della Saas; siblings Sheri Saas, Warren Saas, and Curt Saas; grandchildren Nadia and Isaac Hagedorn; father and mother-in-law Paul and Myrtle Schultz.
A celebration of Jeff's life will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Michelotti-Sawyers has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to: The Heifer Project, with checks payable to the Yellowstone Conference, PO Box 20335, Billings, MT 59104.
