Beverly A. Petersen
Beverly A. Petersen, 64, of Billings, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, May 20, 2011 at her home.
The daughter of David T. and Lola (Daley) Anderson, she was born March 4, 1947 in Preston, Idaho and was raised throughout Cache Valley, UT. Beverly graduated from North Cache High School and on October 26, 1963 married Bernell J. Petersen in Logan, UT.
Because of Bernell's career with H&R Block they made their home together in Utah, Idaho, and Australia before moving to Billings in 1975 where they purchased their own franchise. They operated and expanded their offices until their retirement in 2001.
Bev's life revolved around her family and she always put their needs ahead of her own. She enjoyed feeding them all with her buffet style meals and had taught her children how to prepare a good meal.
An accomplished seamstress, sewing was her passion, machine embroidery being her favorite. She sewed many of her own clothes as well as her family's. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid and educated antiques collector. Her favorites included porcelain half dolls, figurines, sewing machines and memorabilia.
She loved outdoor activities with her family from boating and fishing to riding along on hunting trips. Not a hunter herself, she just wanted to be along.
In retirement she and Bernell enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome, visiting their daughter in Pensacola, FI and seeing the sites. She also enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, relaxing with Bernell and their dog Oscar while visiting her brother Rick and his family.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, son Steven, and her brother Robert Anderson.
Beverly leaves behind her lifetime love, partner, and best friend, her husband Bernell of 48 years, son Larry of Billings, daughter Julie Hammond of Pensacola, FL, brother Rick (Cindy) Anderson of Queen Creek, AZ, sister Judy (Ted) Hunter of Logan, UT, grandsons, Cody Shepherd, James and Jacob Petersen, and Owen and Noah Petersen, granddaughters Michelle Shepherd and twins Lauren and Ariel Petersen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Although her time with us was all too short, she will remain in our hearts and our memories forever. Her character, sense of humor, and selfless teachings could never be forgotten.
We will miss you Mom, and Love you eternally.
Cremation has taken place. The family will welcome friends with a visitation on Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Interment services are planned for 10am Friday at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
