Donald Condie
Donald Condie, 83 died peacefully in his sleep at his home Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Billings, Montana. He was born August 22, 1927 in Rock Springs, Wyoming the son of Samuel and Isabella Condie. He graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1946.
Donald married Barbara Ellen Blackwell on October 31, 1953 at the Church of Christ in Rock Springs. He attended Western Wyoming Community College for one year and then attended Florida Christian College in 1955 and 1956. Don and Barbara returned to Rock Springs in 1956 where he was a minister for many years. The family had the honor of him baptizing his children and a granddaughter and performing the wedding of his oldest granddaughter.
Donald was employed at Safeway in Rock Springs as a grocery clerk for 35 years, retiring in 1987. Don and Barbara moved to Billings, MT in 2004 due to health reasons.
His interests were his church and family. He really loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially walking them and singing to them when they were babies.
Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years; three children, Denise Jensen and husband Blake of Billings, Ross Condie and wife Billie, Ellen Hinesley and husband Dan all of Rock Springs; Six grandchildren, Calvin Jensen (Jamie), Amy Jensen, Camie Olah, Bryanne, Jennifer and Erin Hinesley; Five great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alyson, Danni, Joey, Jordyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers William and Malcolm; three sisters Margaret Korogi, Isabella Toly Hoffman, Janet Korogi; and his best friend Mocha.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Church of Christ in Billings. Interment of ashes will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings.
