Elsie C. Murphy

Elsie went peacefully home to our Lord on Sunday morning, February 27th, 2011 with family by her bedside. She was born August 8, 1917 to Minnie & Fred Dahlman at Angela, MT.

She attended grade school at Angela and graduated from Custer County High School in Miles City, MT. Right after High School graduation she attended and graduated from beauty school in Sioux City, Iowa. She worked as a beautician her entire life.

She was married to William J. (Bill) Murphy in 1945. They resided in Miles City, MT, Forsyth, MT, Moses Lake, W A, and settled in Billings, MT in 1958 where Elsie had a beauty shop in their home until 2006. She was then a resident of West Park Village until her passing.

Elsie has been a faithful, lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

She loved to travel and visited the Holy Land, Australia, Maui, and multiple cities on the mainland. She was an avid pinochle player and loved her "group" of domino players. She will long be remembered for her faith in God, her positive attitude, her love of family and friends and strong will.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; a brother Ivan, a sister Alma; two nieces Dorothy (Pete) and Laura. She is survived by sister Gertrude Holmlund; a brother Bob Dahlman; three nieces Sharon Senn, Jeanne Jacobsen and Susan Skidmore; a great niece Lisa Howe; two nephews Floyd Dahlman and Dale Holmlund; and her good friend Chuck Kelly.

A special thank you to Rocky Mountain Hospice, employees on the Sapphire Suites of Valley Health Care and Pastor Tim Richholt

Services will held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 4,2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Billings, MT with burial to follow in Forsyth, MT. The casket will be closed.
