Virginia J. Marvin
Virginia Marvin passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011. Virginia was born March 16, 1928; one of 14 children born to Alva and Jane Stevens of Moore Montana. She graduated from Moore High School in 1946.
She married Charles Marvin of Lewistown Montana on August 7, 1948. His work with Hines Motor Supply brought them to Billings where they made their home. Charlie died unexpectedly in October of 1995. Virginia continued to live in the family home until December of 2006, at which time she moved to Highgate Senior Living. She resided there until the time of her death.
Virginia enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and playing pinochle. She was a member of the Elks, danced with the Star Alamanders Square Dance Club for many years, participated in Home Extension Service activities and drove school bus for Billings Public Schools. More recently, she volunteered at St. Vincent Healthcare and participated in Senior Olympic activities. While at Highgate, she enjoyed yoga, bingo, playing pinochle and Wii bowling with the many dear friends she had made there.
Survivors include her children, Gayle Daigle of Billings, Cathy Rosin of Billings, Richard Marvin of Stuttgart Germany; grandchildren Sarah Daigle of Soldotna, AK., Colin Daigle of Garibaldi Or., Tara Rosin of Soldotna, AK., Dawn Greenwade of Medford, OR., Benjamin Marvin of Ft. Riley, KS., Jenna Marvin of San Francisco, CA., and Peter Marvin of Stuttgart Germany; great-grandchildren Dakota, Savannah, Sterling, Charles and Ella, special niece Marianne Miller of Billings, and surviving brothers and sisters Marie, Alva, James, Lois, Catherine, John, Diana, and Linda.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. in Michelotti, Sawyers Mortuary.
