Jurgen H. Kuhr


 

Jurgen H Kuhr was born March 9th, 1924 on his grandmother’s family ranch 25 miles south of Chinook and passed away on March 8th, 2010. 

He graduated from Chinook High School in 1942, attended MSU for one year and then enlisted into the Navy.  Jurgen was a commissioned Naval officer and a Navel aviator and honorably discharged in 1945.

Jurgen married his high school sweetheart Violet (McGuey) in 1946.  They made their home and life on the family ranch.  The Ranch was sold in 1977 and they moved to Havre for several years, then to Kalispell – wintering in Sun City Arizona and finally moving to Billings in 2001.

Jurgen is survived by his wife Violet and daughter Viki Kent (Richard) of Indiana, son Robert Kuhr of Billings and one sister Betty Maston of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Helen Ramburg and consant companion dog Casper.

Jurgen was known as a very positive person who was always willing to lend a hand and smile.  Jurgen had a very private and personal relationship with God and now is discussing the problems of the world with him.

A private ceremony will be held in Billings at a later date yet to be determined.
