Josh Andrew Whitcomb
Josh
Andrew Whitcomb, 34 of Billings, unexpectedly passed away at his
home on June 13, 2010. Josh was born on October 17, 1975 in
Billings, MT, the son on Donald and Carol (Hoines) Whitcomb.
Josh attended Boulder Elementary, Will James Junior High, and Senior High School, before receiving his GED. He mastered his talents as a mechanic, something he learned from his father at a very young age. He continued learning and advancing his skills from various mentors and excelled in his field, until a job related injury in 2009. He was a true artist and was considering perusing training for graphic design. Josh worked for various Auto Mechanic Shops in Billings, most recently, L. P. Anderson.
He loved anything fast, having a need for speed! He had a passion for Drag Racing and raced his car and helped his dad and friends with their race cars. If Josh wasn’t working on cars, he would spend time with his family and friends, and caring for animals. He had many cherished pets over the years. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
On February 23, 2007, Josh married Brittny Sloman of Billings. They loved and cared for each other and spent all their free time together, opening their door to friends and animals needing help.
Josh is survived by his wife Brittny Whitcomb of Billings; parents, Don and Carol Whitcomb of Billings; brother Bryan (Isabelle) Whitcomb of Rock Springs, WY; sister Lori Whitcomb (Billie Liverpool) of Billings; nieces and nephews Aylisa, Nichole, Byron and Matilda Whitcomb, Shavaun Gregory and Aaliyah Liverpool; grandmother Louise Whitcomb; numerous aunts and uncles and cousins; best friend Chad Torgrimson and many other friends too many to mention. Josh is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Sandy and Lisa Nace; and brother-in-law Wyatt Summers. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Selma and Sigur Hoines and Byron Whitcomb; and Brittny’s sister, Lauren Sloman. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 18, 2010 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Help For Homeless Pets or the charity of one’s choice.Remembrances

Don and
Carol,
I am so shocked with the passing of Josh.
I am at a real loss for words.
I expect to see lots of things in the Gazette each day but not the death
of a 34 year old young man I/we have known for his entire life.
The one thing I always noticed about Josh when I saw him at the track or
around town was the constant smile and warm friendly greeting. This is
something I will always remember. He was always friendly and respectful
and seemed a true enjoyer of life. God bless him that is not always an
easy task.
I always got a wave or head nod at the track while doing my photo thing
at the starting line.
He was always proud of his wrenching on his car and had a good reason to
be. The Chevy powered Mustang was a real statement.
You and your family are in our thoughts and Jen and I will be at the
service on Friday.
God Bless.

Josh,
You were a true friend to all my sons and to all your friends. You
will always be known as the “King of the streets”. There will never
be another King with the passion and knowledge you have shown to
everyone who you met and or encountered when it came to “Cruisin and
goin fast”. You will remain in everyones minds and hearts as “The
king”. Your car is now silent, but all of ours roars to life for
you, and will for eternity.
You may no longer be here physically, but I know that when ever
someone who you have touched and helped in their vehicle and your
friendship starts their car you will be looking down and saying
“Hell Ya”
In Memory of “J.A.W. – The King of the Streets”

Dear Don and Carol,
I was shocked when I read the sad news about
Josh’s death in today’s paper, and then I noted as well that Evan
has sent on the news to our class of ’63 list. I hope that you can
realize the love and support of many former Red Lodge friends at
this time of loss.
Karen and I have 3 children in their 30’s,
and I can only barely imagine the pain of losing any one of them. Do
know that you both (and Brittny as well) are in my thoughts and
prayers. – Randy Hyvonen
Dear Carol and Don,
So sorry to read in the paper the passing

You have our deepest sympathy in the loss of your son Josh. I
remember Josh as being a huge fan of my brother(Brent Sandretto) and
of drag racing because of his dad and my brother. Josh must have
been a very special person and it is so sad when a young person
leaves this earth too sudden. Please know that you are in our
thoughts and prayers. Blessings in this most difficult time, Randy
and Gail Gilbertson, Kennewick, WA

He is loved and will be missed terribly.
I desperately wish that I could be there to support you on Friday,
but
the trip is impossible for me at this time. Just know that you are
in my heart
and I am thinking of you and your family.

DEAR DON, CAROL, LAURIE, BRYAN AND FAMILILIES
WITH A VERY HEAVY HEART I SEND MY CONDOLENCES, HAVING JUST LOST MY
BROTHER ON APRIL 13, I KNOW HOW SAD YOU ALL ARE.. I WILL ALWAYS
REMEMBER JOSH AS A TOE-HEADED LITTLE CUTIE, WHO PULLED THE STEERING
WHEEL OFF HIS MOM'S CAR IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE ON REHBERG WHILE WE
WERE HAVING A BROWNIE MEETING ..... LAURIE AND I JUST TALKED ABOUT
THAT LAST MONTH..... I AM SO SORRY, AND HAVE YOU ALL IN MY THOUGHTS
AND PRAYERS. FONDLY, KIM CUNNINGHAM
So sorry for the loss of your son. He was my first boyfriend back in 1992. He was a very sweet and respectful boy! He always and such a kind heart for people and animals. We had had many special moments and memories! He will never be forgotten!
My words will never do justice for what we
all lost with the passing of Josh. He did not care how you did it as
long as it went fast. We had different ideas about how to do that
for many many years but Josh always treated me with respect and
consitantly wanted to “know” and “learn” as did I. That simple
thirst we shared was the foundation for a friendship I will never
forget! You were always the same solid, good hearted man and would
back up anything you said. You don’t find those qualities every day.
My heart hurts knowing I can no longer go out for a cruise and have
a chance to see you man. You made an impression on this world that
will never be forgotten. Thanks for touching my life. I will miss
you and next time we see each other were lining em up!
Peace be with you Josh……”The King of the Streets”
