Bonnie Rae Dinkel

Bonnie Rae Dinkel

We lost Bonnie Rae Dinkel, 60, on June 21st, 2010 after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Her husband, Ron at her side.

Bonnie was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 22, 1949 to Renee and Raymond Krecker. She was the oldest of four children, Randy, Scott (Cheryl) and Peggy Krecker. Bonnie grew up in Mt. Prospect, Illinois where she attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Prospect High. Bonnie married the love of her life on December 27, 1982 and they raised their family in Billings, Montana. She was loved greatly by her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Her favorite pastimes included being on the golf course with her girlfriends, going to her private paradise in Mexico, and sitting in her gazebo with a glass of La Crème. Bonnie and her husband Ron were members of the National Auto Auction Association where she was a coordinator for many of the national events. Additionally, she was an active member of the Yellowstone Country Club. Everyone who came to know Bonnie became an instant friend of hers, she always was looking for new ways to include people in fun events such as the Idinkelrod, the Up Town Showdown, the Par Tee, and a multitude of other events.

The relationship with her husband was very special to her and grew stronger every year that they were together. She taught Ron how to be gracious, how to lose at golf and enjoy it, and how to slow down enough to enjoy friendships that just seemed to pop up where ever she was at. Her relationship with Ron was one only read about in books. Everybody knows that Bonnie enjoyed life to the fullest.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Christine (Kevin) Stumm; daughter, Jennifer (Brent) O'Keefe-Rogge; son, Jeffery O'Keefe; son, Nick Dinkel; and her six grandchildren Tanner and Jacob Stumm, Samantha McKay, Allexa and Mackenzie Rogge and Alyssa O'Keefe; her sister Peggie Krecker and brother Scott (Cheryl) Krecker.

She was preceded in death by her parents Renee and Raymond Krecker and her brother Randy Krecker

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Lutheran Chruch of the Good Shepherd (corner of Lewis Ave. and 24th St.W). Inurnment will follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at the Yellowstone Country Club after the burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Billings Clinic Cancer Center, c/o Billings Clinic Foundation, 2917 10th Ave. N, Billings, MT 59101, or Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1108 24th Billings, MT 59102.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you, and whispered “Come to Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you, we watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

Ron, Chris, Jen & Family,
So sorry for your loss.

Dear Ron and family. My heartfelt condolences. I have fond and fun memories of time spent with Bonnie.

All the best,
Billie

I knew Bonnie through my place of employment. I saw her several times over the last three years and saw her while she was getting treatment.  She was positive through everything, she had my respect and prayers during her fight. She really was a classy lady and battled like a true champion. I am very sorry for your loss.  Kim W.

Ron and family,
