Betty L. Degenhart

Betty L. Degenhart, 80 of Billings, passed away peacefully at
Hansen Cottage on the campus of St. John’s Lutheran Ministries,
on Monday, June 28, 2010. She was born on January 21, 1930 in
Scottsbluff, NE, the daughter of Alex and Catherine Nagel. She
grew up in Billings with her sister and four brothers.
Betty met Albert Degenhart at a dance in their teenage years.
They were married in Billings on October 11, 1947. Betty loved
her family, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed quilting and
embroidery, playing cards, bowling, spending time with her
husband, family, friends, and many pets.
Betty was a long time member of St. Bernard’s Parish, served as
Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Montana Cowbells, and
for 10 years she volunteered at St. Vincent Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister Dorothy, and
brothers Donald and Alex.
Survivors include her husband Albert; her son Richard
(granddaughter Beth); son Michael and his wife Kathy
(grandchildren Andrea and Jonathon); son Steven and his wife
Linda (granddaughters Erin and Keely); her two brothers Jim
Nagel and his wife Donna and Richard Nagel and wife Ann;
sister-in-law Marilyn Nagel; and numerous great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Vigil services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 30, at St. Bernard’s Parish. Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 1, at St. Bernard’s Parish. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Ministries or charity of one’s choice.

I am so sorry I couldn’t be here while Betty passed!!. Seeing her each
day was truly a blessing and she will be greatly missed! Her smile
always brightened up my day!
