Wesley Michael Peterson

Wesley Michael Peterson, 22, loving son,
brother, grandson, nephew and friend passed away peacefully and
unexpectedly in his sleep in Boulder, MT, on Thursday, February 18,
2010. Wesley was born May 14, 1987 in Billings, MT. Wesley spent all
his short life in Montana calling Billings home. He also lived
shorter periods of his life in Helena, Great Falls and Boulder.
He attended Lockwood Elementary School,
Lewis and Clark Middle School, and Senior High School all in
Billings, MT, as well as Helena High School in Helena, MT. He was
really proud to have graduated with his GED. He talked often of
joining the military and of continuing his education.
Wes was working as a carpenter in Boulder at
the time of his passing, remodeling an old historic brick building
into apartments with his friend and boss, Keith Fortune and his
roommate Dan Muchmore. He was very proud of his ability to make
something beautiful again. His short career life has included
carpentry, construction, ironwork and bartending.
Wesley loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting
and sports. He was very young when his Grandpa Don taught him to
fish and he loved casting his line into the water with Grandpa or
friends. Hunting was always with his good friends the Fragas. Wesley
truly loved participating in all sports especially baseball. He
started with T-ball and played all the way through Juniors. His
favorite positions were catcher and third base. He made the AllStar
team several years; playing on the top team one year. He was a
die-hard Green Bay Packer fan.
Wesley was always the life of any gathering.
He was loving, compassionate, empathetic, understanding, protective,
albeit strong-willed and stubborn, multi-faceted man. He sought hard
to please those he loved. He was always there to listen when no one
else would. Wes was seldom on time for anything, even in his death
for he went far too early. His biggest dream of being a husband and
father will never come to pass.
Wesley is survived by his parents, Warren
and Peggy Peterson of Billings; his sister Jennifer Peterson of
Billings; his Grandparents Don and Shirley Hirst of Florence, Mt;
his substitute parents away from home Uncle Lowell Peterson of
Helena and Aunt Liz Hirst also of Helena; his brother (Jennifer’s
fiancé) Tyson Bradish of Billings; the love of his life Erica Kresge
of Great Falls; his lifelong friend Corporal Steven Fraga of Laurel;
all of Steven’s family; cousin Erica Erlandson of Helena; Uncle
Chris and Aunt Kay Heine of Redmond, WA; Uncle Jim and Aunt Cindy
Peterson of Boise, ID; Uncle Neil and Aunt Debbie of Helena; and
cousins Casey Peterson and Tommy Peterson of Helena; Cousins Brett
Peterson, Jill Ramsey, Bethany Peterson and Andrew Peterson of
Boise, ID; Cousins Paige and Jack Heine of Redmond, WA; and many,
many friends. Wesley was preceded in death by his Grandparents
LaVerne and Lillian Peterson.
Viewing will take place Monday and Tuesday
at Michelotti-Sawyers. Memorial services will be at Grace Methodist,
1935 Avenue B at 11 am Wednesday, February 24. Reception will
follow.
You touched so many lives; we will miss you
forever Wesley. We don’t want to say goodbye, and so we won’t. You
are our Wes, Wesser, Wes the Mess, Messley, Baby Brudder, Baby Boy
and will be forever in our hearts. See you again someday.
Remembrances
Please leave your name and remembrance in this public guest book. Your comments will be shared on this page and forwarded to the family.
Peggy and Warren,
I was saddened to read of Wesley's death. You are in my prayers and thoughts. My son's best friend died this past summer and we have learned how difficult it is to lose someone you love so much. Lean on your faith, family and friends.

Please accept my sympathies on the passing of Wesley. I barely remember him. I was just thinking today that we left Billings almost 20 years ago so he would have barely been two. I will try to make up to Billings from Cody on Wednesday morning for the services.

My heart is ripped to pieces in the reading of your son's passing. With losing my son recently at the age of 19, I can't give you any inspiring instant healing message. Just know that God gives him hugs each day. What a truly wonderful image. Know God is there for you, as I am for any comfort I may lend. Handle your grief in whatever manner works for each of you. There is no right or wrong.
Hugs

Dear Peterson Family,
I only met Wes a few times but he will be greatly missed. I hope you find peace in knowing that Wes is in a better place and that his life has touched so many even in passing. You have done an admirable job raising both Jen and Wes, please know my thoughts and prayers are fervently with you in this great time of loss.
Sincerely,
April and family.
Peggy and Warren,
My family would like to express our deepest sympathies to you and your family at this time. I did not know your son but I know how wonderful Peggy is with my little angel and could not imagine the pain you are going through. He is in a good place and you will see him again. Hopefully you find peace in knowing he will forever be remembered and loved.

I am absolutely heart broken to hear of the loss of your son. I know what a close and loving family you are and I know this loss is so hard to comprehend. I so wish I had wonderful works of wisdom to impart on you, but there just never are enough words to take away this kind of pain.
Please know that I am thinking of you (as is Kennedee) and we will continue to keep you in our thoughts.
