William DeSarro

 

William DeSarro, 89 of Billings, passed away on February 13, 2010 at Sheridan VA Medical Center in Sheridan, WY, where he has resided since August 2009.

Willie was born in Joliet, Illinois, on October 31, 1920, the son of Giuseppe and Giulia (Vigna) DeSarro. 

Willie served in the United States Army during WWII.  Following his honorable discharge, he went to work for U.S. Steel, where he remained until his retirement.  Following retirement, Willie moved to Wyoming to be closer to his nephew Joe.  He remained there for a short time before moving to Billings.

William is survived by his nieces and nephew, Carol (Lawrence) Burke of Redondo Beach, CA, Joe (Sally) DeSarro of Roberts, MT, Francine (Fernando) D’Urso of South San Gabriel, CA, and Gina (Mike) Quant of Englewood, CO; as well as several great nieces and nephews. 

Vigil services will be held at 5:30 P.M., on Thursday, February 18, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.  Rite of Committal with military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
