Ronald C. Johnson
With great sorrow we say goodbye to
our husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ronald
C. Johnson passed away peacefully December 22, 2010, from
complications of Parkinsons-Louie Body Dementia, at Eagle
Cliff Nursing Home. Ron was born November 8, 1928, to
Gilbert and Elfrieda Johnson in Thief River Falls,
Minnesota. He later moved to Jamestown, ND, with his family.
It was in Jamestown that he received his education. Ron
started his career as a salesman at Beck's Clothing Store in
Jamestown. He was a member of the National Guard and was
stationed in Alabama.
Ron moved to Billings in 1967 where he was employed as Sales
Manager for Monarch's Clothing. Ron later worked for
Monarch's in Bozeman, MT, as a Sales Manager. While in
Bozeman, he married the love of his life, Mary, in 1974.
They later transferred back to Billings where they made
their home. Ron worked for several clothing stores,
Monarch's, Desmonds, and Jason's. He was an impeccable
dresser, always dressing to the "nines." One of Ron's
clients once said, "A person could come in looking like a
old hippie and walk out looking first class."
Ron and Mary enjoyed many years of golfing, bowling, most of
all, dancing (at the old Horseshoe) and living life to it's
fullest.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a brother,
Richard; and son-in-law, Greg Doughtery. He is survived by
his loving wife, Mary; his daughters from a previous
marriage, Darla (Bill) Dunham and Rhonda Doughtery; a son
Keith (Vickie) Johnson; his daughters from his wife, Mary,
Debra (Butch) Braaten, Karen (Michael) Marcum, Kimberly
(Daniel) Sanchez, Pamela (Bob) Cerkovnik; an adopted
daughter, Belinda (Bryan) Steele;11 grandkids; and 7 great
grandkids, and too many others to mention.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday,
December 27, 2010, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Cremation
has taken place.
Donations may be made to the National Parkinson’s
Foundation, P.O. Box5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018, or to
the charity of one's choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Cliff
Manor, especially Barb, Carla, and others, for their care
given to Ron.
