Darlene J. Gallogly
Darlene J. Gallogly passed away on December 10, 2010 at home
in the loving embrace of her family.
Darlene was born on January 19, 1931 to Jim and Leona
Mahoney in Great Falls Montana, attending local schools and
graduating from Great Falls High in the spring of 1949.
She met Pete Gallogly in Great Falls, later marrying him in
Iceland in 1954 where he was a firefighter for the American
government. After settling back in Great Falls she started
her life long career with the phone company, then called
Mountain Bell.
Darlene and Pete raised their family of seven in Great Falls
and after retiring spent the last 28 years in Billings. With
much pride, she followed all of her kids and grandkids in
all their sporting activities throughout the years. Always
one with an open door to her home and her heart, she raised
not only her own children but many, many others, touching
forever the lives of all who met her. Affectionately known
as Mrs. "G" she had a special fondness for all the people
who passed through her home on 24th Ave, and of course the
championship softball team, The Sponsors, with whom she and
her husband managed.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Pete, children
Colleen Gallogly Phoenix, AZ, Maureen Gallogly-Klaboe
(Paul), Sean Gallogly (Nancy), Brendan, Peter, and Kathleen
Gallogly all of Billings, sister Delores Knechtges of
Spokane Washington, 14 grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Kevin; Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held at Saint Patrick Cathedral in Billings at 12:00 Noon Wednesday Dec 15, 2010. Reception to follow mass.

To Pete
and the Gallogly family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I was one of those who passed through the
Gallogly home on 24th Ave. I can remember your mom sitting at the
kitchen table, legs crossed with a cup of coffee and rolling her eyes at
all the antics a busy household with neighborhood kids running in and
out can bring. I have fond memories of growing up in that neighborhood
and fond memories of your mother. May the Lord Jesus comfort you in this
difficult time, and know that we are thinking of you.
Sincerely, Jerry and Sheree McKinley

Thinking of you all. What memories we share as part of the 24th
Street Gang. The laughter and the sorrow, but always the closeness
and love for one another. You have been a part of my life since
toddlerhood and now it is time to say good-bye to the matriarch of
the Gallogly Clan. Mrs. G told me when I got older the days would
fly by, and though unbelievable at the time, they have. Thankfully,
we have our stories to remind us of what has passed. Mother to her
own brood, surrogate mom to a slew of others, Darling left us with
plenty to smile about. May she find peace with the Spirit in the
Sky.

The the Gallogly's...
It's been many years since we last saw one another but the memories
still come and create smiles of all the adventures of the 24th
Street gang. We lived life to its fullest as we shared our days
especially with Mrs. G and Peter. Softball was an adventure that
formed us all into the adults we are today. I was saddened with the
news of Mrs. G's passing but know that her life was full with all
the family had to offer her in her being a mom and grandma. Hope
you're all well and happy and that your lives are fulfilled with
goodness.
Much Love,
Sue Pau
