Robert R. "Bob" Diede
Robert R. “Bob” Diede, 91, of Billings, passed away December 22,
2010. Bob was born in Glen Ullin, North Dakota on September 13,
1919.
After attending school in North Dakota and living in Bismarck,
Bob served his country in World War II and was active in the
Ninetieth Division Association.
Following the war, Bob moved to Billings where he was the
general manager for the Billings Kenworth Truck dealership
for 17 years followed by a long career in automotive, truck
and heavy equipment financing.
It was in Billings where Bob met his wife Helen and they
were married September 9, 1950. The couple raised their
three children in Billings.
Bob was a member of the First Congregational Church for over
50 years. He was also a life member of the Elks.
Bob loved spending time on the family ranch near Roberts and
enjoyed the many friends he made in that community over the
years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two
sisters, his wife Helen and two daughters, Anne and Jeanne.
He is survived by his son Phillip, two sisters, Pat Robinson
and Lou Burd and two brothers, Ray and Marvin Diede.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January
7th at the First Congregational Church in Billings. Burial
will take place in North Dakota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First
Congregational Church, Family Services Inc. or a charity of
one’s choice.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people of Vintage Suites and Billings Clinic. Their compassion and care were greatly appreciated during the past few months.
