Wayne Ferguson

Waynor "Wayne" Michie Ferguson went to be with The Lord on October 13, 2009 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born to Oma and Turner Summerfield Ferguson on January 1, 1923 in Carrollton, MS.

Wayne was in the army during World War II serving with the 385th  bomber group. While stationed in Great Falls he met Josephine "Jo" Oset of Roundup. After the war he and Jo were married and moved to Roundup where they raised their three children. He worked in the coal mines for a few years before starting his own appliance and electronics business. After retiring he and Jo moved to Billings in 1983 where they made many new friends and became members of the East Gate Wesleyan Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 4 for many years.

Wayne had a deep love for his family and enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing guitar and singing, working on cars, taking long car trips, and visiting with his and Jo's many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife and devoted care giver, Jo, his son Frank, Frank's long time companion Tommie Schmidt, his daughter Kathleen Bobinski (John), grandchildren Matt, Adam and Eileen Bobinski, his two brothers Lowell and James, and his two sisters, Rose Fox (Lewis) and Sunny Branner (William). He was preceded in death by his son Michie.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ramona and Kayla from Rocky Mountain Hospice. They were like angels in these extremely difficult last few months.

Wayne was always so loving and supportive to all of his children. I always felt I was part of his family when I was with Frank at his house. I remember his laugh and sparkling eyes when he talked. He was a good Dad, probably the most important thing any human being could be in this world. I'll miss him.

We ran into Jo and Wayne in the McDonald's on our way to Denver last year and had a good visit with them. I'm sorry We couldn't be there to pay our respects in person. Please accept our sincere condolences and love. Ray and Joyce Erbe

Jo, Kathy, and Frank:

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.   I also have many fond memories of time spent in the Ferguson home in Roundup.

May God comfort you during this time of loss.

Uncle Bub has a very special place in my heart and memory.  I remember him with such a sweet and ready smile, and just loved his laughter.  My mother calls him "my sweet brother".  I love you Uncle Bub.  Like Mom said when we left you last February, we'll see you in heaven.

Much love to Jo, Frank & Tommie, and Kathy & family.  I am thinking about you all.  Beth
