Lois Mae Carlson

My Loving Grandmother, and Best Friend, Lois Mae Carlson, past away,
early Saturday Morning, October 24th, in her Billings home. She had
been failing from various health issues over the past few years. On
Sept. 30th her Daughter Judy also passed, and the shock and broken
heartedness, also added stress to her tired body and mind, and she
just lost her will. At 82 years old, her body was just wore out!
She was home, and happy, with loved ones and her Dachshunds dogs,
she just went to sleep and went Home to Heaven Peacefully!
Lois Mae Carlson was born on December 2nd 1926, the daughter of
Blanch and Guy Edward Smith of Williston, North Dakota. She is
predeceased by parents; 4 sisters, Ruby, Virginia, Alvina, and
Darlene; and 1 brother Dalton. Lois Mae was the last of the siblings
to pass. She was also preceded in death by her husband George
C. Carlson; her daughter Judy D. Hesselgesser; and Great Grandson
Anthony Thomas Kuntz; and Step Daughter Sandi.
On December 31st 1955, Lois Mae married the love of her life, George
C. Carlson. Lois Mae had one Daughter Judy Darlene; two
Grandchildren, Georgia, and Gregory; 4 Great Grandchildren, Aleasha
Mae, Amanda Rose, Anthony Thomas, and Kyle Zachery; and 1 Great
Great Granddaughter, Gingerlea Rose; and 1 more Great Grand Daughter
on the way; three step Children, Rocky, Terry and Sandi. They
adopted George's 4 Grandchildren after Sandi's passing, Cathy, Jon,
Jackie, and George. They all have children and grandchildren now;
she has left a legacy of family and love behind.
While Lois Mae and George were married they traveled the world and
shared a very exciting life. Lois Mae touched many lives, she was a
astute business women, from a successful poodle breeding business in
the late 50'S and early 60'S, shipping them all over the United
States, to making many real estate purchases in the 70'S and 80'S.
She was the sole proprietor of Lois Mae Carlson's Rental Service,
here in Billings and the Phoenix area. She was a mover and a shaker,
never letting the fact she was a woman stop her in a man's world,
she was a for runner for women, she would always say, (A Woman can
do anything a Man can do if you just put your mind to it). Lois Mae
was also a member of the Women of the Moose, and an Eastern Star,
and also a Lady of the Elks, locally here in Billings.
Lois Mae was fortunate to find a loving companion late in life. In
the late 90'S, she ran a add in the Gazette, to advertise her
Dachshund pups, and a gentleman by the name of Ralph Brown called,
and came by to see the pups. They struck up conversation, and a new
late in life friendship was in bloom. They started dating, and she
shared her home with him, they took good care of each other. She
always said that she had the best of both lives, with George she had
the love of her life, and fancy things, and with Ralph she had
gentle tender love. She said many times she was truly blessed by 2
great loves.
The family would like to extend much thanks to all the Dr.'s and
Nurses, and Friends who have given her such loving care during the
past few years.
Her family would like to thank her for all the wonderful things she
has done for us, and the unconditional love she gave us all.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30th, at Michelotti Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Billings, and internment at Mountview Cemetery, with the reception to follow at the Moose Lodge at 1715 Calhoun Lane, Billings.
Please come and celebrate Lois Mae Carlson's life! We Love You! You will be greatly missed!
