Leah Weber Sieler

Leah Sieler

Leah Weber Sieler, 77, went quietly home to be with her Lord Tuesday evening, November 24, 2009. Leah was born to Philipp and Friedaricka Weber on October 24, 1932 in Hebron, ND, the second daughter of 14 children in a German farming family. They moved to Billings, MT in 1943 when Leah was 10 yrs old. She continued her education through the 8th grade after which she stayed home to help with her large family. At 16 she went to work as a bookkeeper, eventually took the GED and obtained a high school diploma. Her education also included Bible courses at Northwest College in Kirkland, WA. A devoted daughter, she returned from there to continue her role as big sister to her many younger siblings, work full-time as a bookkeeper, and serve in her church.

Leah’s quiet routine changed when a cowboy from southeastern MT arrived in town. David Sieler set his sights on the slender, blonde Leah Weber and convinced her to marry and start a family of her own in October of 1959. Dave and Leah pursued a quiet life that centered around God and their large, close families. They had two sons, Nathan Edward and David James. Leah stayed home with the boys until they were in junior high when she took accounting courses and went back to bookkeeping. She was completely fulfilled as a wife, mother and homemaker. An industrious, private person, Leah took great pleasure in scripture memory, gardening, and all things domestic. She did enjoy accompanying her husband and boys on their trips and adventures, but was always happy to return home. Her marriage endured until Dave’s death parted them in 2008 after almost 49 years.

Leah is survived by her sons, Nathan (LuWayne) Sieler of Livingston; David (Gwen) Sieler of Billings; and six grandchildren who brought a smile to her face like nothing else – Holden David, Jothan Edward and Hudson Emmanuel Sieler; Monica Jane, Madelyn Ayn and David Sheldon Sieler. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Emmanuel Sieler; her parents; three brothers, Raymond (Pearl), Calvin (Mabel), and Reuben Weber; and one sister, Clara (Richard) Simmons. She is also survived by seven sisters, Esther (Gordon) Hurtt of Monroe, WA; Orpah (Fred) Tudor of Bozeman; Ruth (Del) Yoder of Billings; Dinah (Rex) Woods of Post Falls, ID; Delilah (Todd) Smith of Livingston; Della Weber of Grapevine, TX;  Sharon (Randy) Burns of Palm Springs, CA; and two brothers, Fred (Esther) Weber of Missoula;  Cecil (Sandy) Weber of Tulsa, OK.  Leah leaves a legacy of love for God, His Word, and family.

The casket will be open for visitation on from 1-5 p.m., on Sunday, November 29, and Monday from 8-11:30 a.m., at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.  Private family interment will be held prior to the funeral service at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. A Memorial Celebration of Leah’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, at Parkhill Assembly of God.

Memorials may be made to Glacier Bible Camp, 2147 Overland Ave., Suite 100, Billings, MT 59102.

David, Gwen, and family,

We are so sorry for your loss.  It must be hard to lose both parents in such a short time.

God Bless,
