Phyllis I. Kober

Phyllis I. Kober, 81 of Billings, passed
away on November 21, 2009 at Riverstone Hospice Home.
Our mom was born on July 3, 1928 and she celebrated her own
Independence Day every day since. Billings was home from
beginning to end and she was proud to say she was a native.
Phyllis was the daughter of Roy V. and Irene
Taylor, and her two dear sisters were Virginia “Ginny” Warren and
Patricia “Patty” Hultgren-Anderson.
She attended Broadwater Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and Senior
High School. During those high school years Phyl met Dick
Kober, whom it turns out, was also the ‘boy next door.’ Well,
they fell in love, married, had two kids (Andi and Rich) and almost
grew old together. However, her one true was taken at the age
of 55.
She filled those alone years with volunteer work at St. Vincent
Hospital and by drawing birds for the Audubon Newsletter the
“Flyer”. Phyllis stayed busy at home with needle work,
crossword puzzles, and love to play Scrabble. She loved the
cats she had over the years. Phyl loved to cook and was quite
the gourmet ‘chef’.
Phyl is survived by her daughter Andi Kober of Billings; son Rich
Kober of Portland; granddaughter Dori Richardson; great-grandson,
Soren Richardson; and sister Patty Anderson of Florida. She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Ginny.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at
2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 24, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.
Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution to the Animal Shelter or the Montana Rescue Mission.
You will be missed, Mom!
Remembrances
Please leave your name and remembrance in this public guest book. Your comments will be shared on this page and forwarded to the family.
I was fortunate enough to know Phyllis for almost 20 years. She was a very dear customer at Gibson and when I opened my store, First Pharmacy, she moved over with me. She was always so very pleasant, so appreciative of anything you did for her. It was easy helping her with her needs. Heaven as certainly welcomed a good person! I will miss her. God Bless, Hertha and staff First Pharmacy
