Mary Beth Martin

Mary Beth Martin

On May 31, 2009 the angels carried the love of our life to our heavenly father.  Mary Beth passed away peacefully at the age of 50 while at home, and left to join her parents Bette and Tudor Edwards. She had been battling cancer for over a year and fought with dignity, grace, and kept her sense of humor throughout.

Mary Beth was born in Sheridan, WY on August 24, 1958, the first of four girls. She moved to Billings shortly thereafter and attended public schools, graduating from West High in 1976. She married her best friend and true love Dennis, in 1980 in Billings. This union was blessed with Nathan (Toby) in 1983 and Tyler in 1985. They were her everything and she was everything to them.  She was a kind sister, a caring mother, and a compassionate and giving wife. Her first joy was her family who surrounded her, creating laughs and irreplaceable memories.  She made a point of watching every Lifetime Channel movie ever made and never missing her Taco John’s Tuesdays with her loving niece Jennifer.  Our Lulu also enjoyed animals, big or small, never thinking twice about bringing home strays.  She was an avid reader, golfer, and enjoyed nothing better than to watch her boys play baseball, spending three years on the Heights National Little League Board.  She was employed for several years in the Occupational Health Department of St. Vincent’s, as well as Billings Clinic.

She is survived by her husband Dennis, her sons Toby (Ashley) and Tyler, three sisters Kathy (Ken) Weber, Terrie Murphy, and Jeannie (Pat) Dunn, her nieces and nephews Aric and Jenn Weber, J.J., Maloree, and Chris Murphy, and Shawnn and Jessica Dunn, as well as numerous other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Purcell and Diane Jones for their compassionate and loving care, and all those family members who gave so much love and support during this difficult year; especially Jennifer who loved her Myrtle.  In the half century she spent on this planet she made everyone around her shine a little brighter.  Her presence left more than enough joy to fill the hole which her absence leaves.

Memorials may be made to the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch.

Mareth, You are my first, my last, my everything. – Love, Dennis

Visitation will be 2-7pm Thursday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral services will be 1pm Friday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with interment at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mary Beth. She was such an amazing person, who made everyone around her laugh and smile. She and Jerrie are now looking down on all of us together... and possibly causing some trouble together again! Mary Beth will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dear Dennis, Toby, Ashley, and Tyler,

I am so sorry and hope that you all find comfort that she is in a good place. We will miss her very much, especially her unconditional positive regard for all people and a sense of humor that was second to none! I thank her for giving us Toby and accepting the Thayer Clan into her family. I will never forget her love and appreciation for our Ashley. They had a very special relationship that I will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Martin Family. God Bless you all.

Chris and Konnie Collinson.

Dennis, Toby, and Tyler,

We will surely miss Mary Beth and her great sense of humor. I also miss her true dedication to all she gave to the Heights National Little League. While the boys played in this League and were so active, so was Mary Beth. I truly enjoyed her commitment to the League and all the help she provided while serving on the Board. I have to research my records but I thought with her dedication, it was much more than 3 years that she served on the Board. Anyway, we will surely miss her and I want to extend my deep heartfelt condolences to all of you. Cherish all those memories and may all the prayers and friends help you through this difficult time. I know we will never forget that trip to the Big League Regional Boys Tournament in Scottsdale, AZ. It was a great time with you all. GOD BLESS. Love, Tim, Diane, & Scott Felchle
