Antonia C. "Toni" Williams

Toni Williams

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother at the age of 84, on July 22, 2009. Toni was one of four children born to Delia (Sauvageau) and Edward Pronovost. She leaves her siblings, Lucille Faltermeyer of Helena, MT, RoseMarie (Lee) Heerwald of Minneapolis, MN, and Jerry (Mary) Pronovost of Billings. She also leaves her three daughters, Renee (Ray) Mehrer, Denise (Scott) DeMars both of Billings, and Patti (Rick) Main of Post Falls, ID; six grandchildren: Jamie Quass (Jerry Heiss), Michael Quass, Angie (Chad) Quesnell, Ed (Miranda) Main, and Brandon and Ryan DeMars. She also leaves 4 great-grandchildren: Landen and Morgan Quesnell and Eli and Lilja Main. She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband of 55 years, Duart Williams.

Toni was born and raised in Belfield, ND, and after graduating from High School in 1943, she moved to Fargo, ND. where she was employed at St. John's Hospital. In 1948 she moved to Billings, MT where she worked for St. Vincent's Hospital followed by 25 years at the Billings Clinic. She then worked at Commercial Medical Exams until retiring to spend time with her grandchildren.

Soon after coming to Billings, good friends Ray and Louise Michels introduced  her to Duart and soon after they were married in 1952.

Mom will be remembered for so many good times but mostly for the backyard BBQ's, her delicious homemade cakes, pies and cookies and Holiday gatherings that she put her heart and soul into.

Her pleasures included not only baking but also pinochle with friends, needlepoint and entertaining company.

Mom was a woman of strong faith. She was a charter member of St. Pius Catholic Church. She modeled the importance of bonding of family through values, honor and unconditional love.

For the final five years of her life, Toni received loving care in Rimview Square at St. Johns Lutheran Home. She was given special attention by so many of the staff and in the last year she became very attached to Diana "her friend" a very special nurses assistant. We want to thank all of the staff for their kind and caring treatment of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Home (Rimview Square) or a charity of your choice.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M., Monday, July 27, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.  The casket will be open on Sunday from 12-5 p.m. prior to the rosary.  Cremation will follow.  Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, at  the Ocee Johnson Chapel in Chapel Court, at St. John’s Lutheran Home, 3940 Rimrock Rd.

Add Your Remembrance

My dear friend Denise,

I am so very sorry to hear about your mom's passing. She was such a very special lady. I remember a time when we were the best of friends (almost as close as sisters), traveling back and forth across the street to each other's homes, and I truly felt as if she were a second mom to me. Oh, the things we would do and how your mother's laughter would sound throughout the house. She had a wonderful sense of humor! My mom always thought the world of her and I truly know that they are up above just gabbing away, sharing that famous cup of coffee. My prayers and thoughts are with you, Patti, Renee, and all of your families. All my love, Dennise Love

Peanut butter pie! Who'd a thunk it? Thanks to Toni I was able to add that to my culinary experience. She was one of a kind. God rest her soul.
