Keith Allen Peterson

Keith Peterson

Our devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Keith Allen Peterson, passed away on December 20, 2009 at age 61.

Keith was born in Billings on August 23, 1948 to Leland and Lucy Peterson. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1966. After graduation, he went to Bremerton, Washington to a welding trade school to practice his passion for welding. He then served in the Vietnam War for two tours. When he came home he worked various jobs as a welder.

On July 21, 1973 he married the love of his life, Linda. They lived in Custer, Colstrip, and finally, Billings. It was here he worked for the Cenex Refinery for 37 years. During the fun, fast-paced years, the couple had three children. In April 2009, he proudly became a grandfather for the first time.

He enjoyed being with his family most of all. He loved to hunt, fish, and go rock hunting with his children. He loved competing with his daughter over the daily crossword and jumble. His generosity, kind heart, and unique sense of humor put a smile on the faces of everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, and three children Nathan (Breeann), Brittany, Erik, and his grandson, Aidan; His sisters Bonnie (AI) McFate, Gail (Earnest) Reinhardt, Kathy (Harold) Holthouser, and Violet (Larry) Halvorson and many nieces and nephews of whom he loved dearly.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at St. Pius X Parish on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Dear Linda, Nathan, Brittany, and Erik,

I am so very sorry for your loss.  You have all been in my thoughts and prayers.  Linda, we just talked right before this happened, and it was so sudden.  I hope you know your friends are here for you.  Please let us help you and your family through this very difficult time.  I was so very sorry to miss the memorial service, but our plane didn’t land until after 3:00 on the day of the service.  I am home now, and I am available for anything I can do to help.  I have been through this, and even if you just want to talk, let me know.  My phone number is 661-5112.  Please call anytime day or night.  It helps to talk.  Again, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  Your friend, Diana Deines
