Maryann Finley

Maryann Finley, 73 of Joliet, passed away peacefully in her sleep.   She was born to George and Anna (Kolasky) Evertz on April 27, 1936 in Joliet, MT and left this world on December 26, 2009 in Laurel.

Maryann graduated from Joliet High School in 1954.  On January 17, 1959 she married Clyde A. Finley. 

Maryann raised six kids and helped Clyde farm and ranch in the Billings/Hardin area.  In 1970 they bought Maryann’s parents place and moved the family to Joliet.  In the winter time, it was affectionately known as “Little Siberia”.

When the youngest child was in school, she started to work at the ASCS office in Joliet and transferred to the Columbus office, where she later retired.

During her retirement she loved traveling overseas and across the country to visit all of her kids and grandkids.

Maryann is survived by four sons, Kelly (Lana) Finley of Cortez, CO, Mike Finley of Joliet, Mitch (Beth) Finley of Richmond Hill, GA, and Shawn Finley of Whitefish; two daughters Kim (Don) Fowler of Worden and Michelle (Marvin) Wallace of Spotsylvania, VA; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her brother Bob (Betty) Evertz of Joliet; sister-in-law Ann Evertz of Poulson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Finley; brothers, John Evertz, Frank Evertz; and parents George and Anna.

The casket will be open for visitation at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday.  Vigil services will be held at 6:30 P.M., Friday, January 1, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Joliet.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church.  Rite of Committal will follow at Joliet Cemetery

Memorials may be made to the Joliet Community Center or a charity of one’s choice.
