Robert S. Skavland, Jr.
My
wonderful and loving husband of 33 years, Robert S. Skavland, Jr.,
went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2009 at St. Vincent Health
Care with his best friend and family by his side.
Bob was born July 5, 1948 to Robert and
Dorothy Skavland in
With God calling him home, I don’t think God realized what he was in for. God please be patient because of his way of thinking and because he can be very boisterous.
Bob spent his life as a professional truck driver or a highway tourist as he referred to himself. He drove for Steve Nelson Trucking for many years. He enjoyed trucking, his on going football games and a big cold beer. He was an excellent dancer. He was a loyal friend and was always true to his word. He always made sure you heard him.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Cindy, 2 daughters, Candy and Misty, 7 grandchildren, his in-laws Bob and Charlotte Taylor, his best friend Bob “Maam”, and so many friends at home and on the road.
Remembrances
Please leave your name and remembrance in this public guest book. Your comments will be shared on this page and forwarded to the family.
I will truly miss Bob's laugh and all the teasing he would dish out. Most of all I will miss seeing his smiling face coming in the Trail Star every week for the last 20 years. My prayers are with his family.

I have known Bob for about 14 years now and will miss his boisterous laugh and smile sooo very much. He called me "little girl" all the time. Sometimes he would slip and call me Candice, I now know why. He was a great man and it was always my pleasure to serve him.
Candy Wheatcroft "Trail Star"
You will always be remembered as a loving father, son and friend. I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers and take care of your loved ones the best I can. Love, Dallas
Cindy and Bob's daughters: I don't know if you remember us but i truly remember You all. Bob and his boisterous laugh and naughty ways. Cindy i know you will remember us from Rick and Connies wedding and how Bob started the pants pulls!!!! Those were the good times. How about when Bob broke his leg while riding his bike and Rick and Larry took him to the hospital and came home with train layout materials. Remember those happy thoughts and it will make it a little easier. I wake up every morning and think a happy thought of our son Jon whom we lost in 2003, and somehow i survive the day, along with my other two children and grandchildren. Hold on to them and cherish to good times. Shirley and Larry Fettig Dickinson, ND
