Alicemae Besch

Alicemae Besch

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.  Proverbs 31:28

Alicemae, wife, mom, grandma, nana and friend, was so precious and so loved.  In her Godly, loving and humble nature she shared daily about her faith.  Nothing was more important to her than sharing God’s word with others.  She unreservedly believed that "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.  It is so simple, so complete and so life changing.  She had a gift for touching the lives of those around her, loving them and drawing them to her heart.

Mom was born Alicemae Amsrud on July 14, 1923 in La Crosse, WI.  She truly married the love of her life, Gordon Otto Carl Besch, on August 14, 1949.  He preceded her in death.  Their children are Gordy
(Lynn) Besch, Greta (Kellen) Moen, Ericka (Tim) Larson and Jons (Jane) Besch.  Their grandchildren are Jessica and Courtney Besch, Kyle and Christine Moen, Heather and Joshua Larson and Kirstyn and Ryan Besch.

Mom enjoyed living in Superior, WI for many years.  She was active in Christian Women’s Club, Gideon’s International, First Covenant Church-Duluth, MN and Faith Evangelical Church-Billings, MT.  She quietly supported many, many Christian missionaries and Christian organizations all in service and submission to God, reaching those for His Kingdom.

After Dad’s passing, mom moved west to Billings, MT.   She so loved, embraced and prayed for her new friends at Faith Evangelical Church, the Faith Builder’s prayer warriors and the residents and staff at Mission Ridge and Vista.  You all meant so much to her.

We were so blessed to have been given this strong, little lady for all of these years.  A kinder and more caring woman has not walked on this earth and we rejoice that she is whole in the presence of our King.

Only one life will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last.

“Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21

A family service honoring her life will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel, La Crosse, WI on August 22, 2009 at 1:30pm.

Memorials may be sent to The Gideons International, 2817 2nd Ave N # 202, Billings, MT 59101 www.gideons.org  or RBC Ministries, PO Box 2222, Grand Rapids, MI 49501 www.rbc.org

I had the privilege of caring for Alicemae in the TCC @ St John's. Her quiet strength & gentle spirit really touched me, as well as her faith & love for her Lord. I was also blessed to witness the devotion from her daughter Ericka, (since I work nights Ericka was the only family member I was able to personally meet - I enjoyed our visits too!) May God's promises & love sustain you & give you comfort & peace.

Sincerely, Shirlee White RN
