Nathan HaushalterNathan HaushalterNathan Ralston Haushalter, 88 of Billings, went to join the Lord, on May 17, 2010 at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.  “Nate The Great” was born on November 11, 1921, in Great Falls, MT, the son of Jacob and Meecy (Ralston) Haushalter. 

After serving in WWII as a Navy Gunner, Nate became a well accomplished home improvement salesman, successful entrepreneur, and an owner of his business, State Advertising.

“Nat The Rat” enjoyed dancing with the Dollies, telling jokes, and socializing at the Crystal Lounge, Andy’s and Lee’s.  His usual pastimes were usually spent on the water fishing and boating.  Nate loved life and lived every moment to the fullest.  His unique character and lively spirit showed in everything he did and he inspired all that knew him.

Nate is survived by his daughter Vicky (Tim) Zent of Billings; son Perry (Debra) Haushalter of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Ashley, Dustin, Jon, and Jake Burling and Wesley Haushalter; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children Wayne Haushalter and Dolly Martin; and sisters Jane Arensmyer and Candy Campo.

Visitation will be on Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.  and Friday 8-11 a.m., at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.  Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, at the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery, 55 Buffalo Trail Rd, in Laurel, MT.  Military honors will be provided
