Dorothy Marie Schutz
Dorothy Marie Schutz was born
September 28, 1924 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Panteley and
Anna (Kostelecky) Salonick. She grew up and attended school in
South Heart. As a young woman, she helped out on the family
farm.
Dorothy moved to Billings, Montana where she met and married
John Schutz on November 16, 1946. They were married for 55
years before John’s death in 2001. They made Billings their
home where they raised their family. Dorothy worked for
Pierce Packing and numerous years at the Esquire Café. She
loved dancing to her favorite polka music.
After her marriage, she raised four wonderful children;
three sons and one daughter. They were the light of her
life. Dorothy will be remembered for her wonderful cooking
and dedication to her family.
Dorothy Marie Schutz passed away peacefully with her family
at her side, on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Billings
Clinic.
She is survived by her children Dan (Sharon) Schutz, Bob
(Kim) Schutz, Kathleen (Tom) Carrillo, and Ken (Patty)
Schutz; three grandchildren, Shelly (Jason) Pierce, Kara
Milliron and Amanda Carrillo; and three great-grandchildren,
Tristin and Skylar Pierce and Chase Milliron. She is also
survived by her brother Tony Salonick of Dickinson, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John;
four sisters, Emma Kadrmas, Rose Roller, Tillie Schutz, and
Mildred Splichal.
We would like to thank all the staff at Aspen Meadows, the
staff on the 4th floor at Billings Clinic, and Drs. Szabo
and Argani for their excellent care and personal attention
to our mother.
Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held
at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 15, 2007 at
Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Inurnment will follow at Sunset
Memorial Gardens.
